I just loved this session with Cedar Hills council woman Marisa Wright and her husband Joel Wright. Joel is running for Utah County commissioner soon so I'm sure you will see more of him.

Also, my sisters and I are hosting a Matilda Jane Party a week from this Tuesday. If you love these little girl clothes as much as I do you be sure to come. They are beautiful and they have just released their winter line.

I have had so many sessions lately that I'm having a hard time posting. I'll try to get all my latest sessions posted soon.

Meanwhile, those that are waiting for your CD's and pictures I'm running a little behind but I'm burning the midnight oil trying to get your pictures done as fast as I can. Thanks for being patient.

Lastely, I will be uploading all of my recent sessions on a new wordpress blog made just for photographers. I'm so excited about it. Posting will take a lot less time plus I just love the new look. Watch for it in the next few days.

So my sister Camille orchastrated this little maternity shoot the other day. There were four photographers shooting away at cute little pregnant Ashley. She was little too. She is only 26 days away from giving birth and she looks like this. She was an awesome model who was willing to do what we asked her. We wanted her to do a cute little leg lift in the back. . . I forgot how hard that would be to do when your almost nine months pregnant. Lots of fun.

I also just want to do a big "shout out" to my two sisters Camille and Cori who do photography along with me. They are awesome and I definitely would not be as far along in photography without them. The three of us study, learn, and try together. I often get asked how I've come so far in photography so fast. Well, its because of the three of us working together. Otherwise it would have been totally impossible. We share lots of information and that helps tons. Thanks sister's!

Baby Ava

Ava was three weeks old so we only got one awake shot. She was so adorable and I loved meeting her sweet aunt that brought her to my home.

Ava's Mom passed away during child birth due to complications with pre-eclampsia or toxemia. Since I had the same thing when I was pregnant with Baylee this situation hit close to home.

Luckily baby Ava has a wonderful Dad and a three year old sister along with grandparents, aunts and uncles that are all helping take care of her. Ava's grandparents were serving a mission in Peru and came home to attend their daughters funeral and now Ava is their mission. She certainly is well loved and taken care of.

Thank you Kaylene Bitter who facilitated my taking pictures of Ava. Kaylene is a good friend of Ava's family and really loved her Mom.

Hatfields

Oh my gosh I had so much fun hanging out with the Hatfields on Saturday evening. Shad is a fireman for Lehi City so they wanted part of their session at the station. The other firemen were so nice to let us take over their bay for a couple of hours. One of them even stood behind me to help make the girls laugh.

What a fun family! I hope the girls had a good time at the Zoo for behaving so well.

I took a few profile pictures of my sister Camille yesterday. She told me not to post them . . . but, I talked her into it. I think as Mom's we take pictures of our kids and our families but never of us. I would have cherished a picture of my Mom in her twenties, thirties, forties and beyond. I still want my Mom to let me take some pictures of her and I would love them. Hopefully she will let me one day. . . .

Many of us put this off thinking we would do it when we loose weight but really as we age the best were ever going to look is now. So do it.

I went to Julie Parker's "Get Schooled" workshop last week. It was very illuminating. I realized that I definetely have a tendency to over edit (I just love photoshop) so I'm working on that. Most of all it gave me a little bit more of a motivation to use natural light instead of the studio. Anyway, I recommend it to anyone looking to improve their camera skills.

Introducing My New D700!

I am so excited. I finally got my new Nikon D700! It is an amazing camera that can take awesome pictures in low light situations. It was quite the investment and upgrade from my Nikon D200 but I think it is totally worth it. I can't wait to do an outdoor session.

I was taking pictures of the girls in their pettiskirts when Braxton decided that I was not paying near enough attention to him. He went and put on his lucky St. Patrick's Day shirt and a winter hat to really get my attention and started posing. I thought he was so cute I wouldn't pass it up - even though you can definately tell his outfit was picked out by a four year old.

I have been wanting to take pictures of my daughter Baylee and her best friend Savannah for a long time now for Baylee's scrapbook. Baylee started playing with Savannah when she was three years old and they have been the greatest friends ever since. Both of them have a love of horses like no other. Savannah probably more than Baylee. This summer the two of them have been saddling up the horses and riding all on their own. I have been so proud of them for overcoming their fears and riding. Well, mainly it was Baylee that was fearful and Savannah helped her overcome that. Anyway, it's good to see them dress up and be girly sometimes too. Here's to two future Rodeo Queens.

These three girls were so silly. It was fun to work with them. They tried on all of the little girl pettiskirts that I had. I couldn't believe that they fit into some of the 6X skirts. They didn't stop at skirts they also had to model some of my little boy ties. I must say they looked pretty good in them. I hope they had as much fun as I did taking their pictures.

Jennica hasn't been feeling good for the past few days. She seemed better today except that she had onery-itis. I'll post this cute picture of her so that I remember how much I love her even when she acts unlovable. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon. For all of our sakes.

Braxton is terrified of water after he slipped off the shallow end and into the deep part of my parents pool a few weeks back. I had to jump in shoes and all to save him. Anyway, he feels safe with a baby boat, a floating swim suit, and arm floaties. This boy will not sink! It was funny watching him try to get out of the pool.

Summer's session was the shortest session I have ever had. I think it lasted for fifteen minutes. The camera just loved her and we still got some cute ones I think. As you can see in the last picture it was getting too close to nap time and she was done. Such a beautiful little two year old.

We would have taken their little baby Elle's pictures last week but their one year old Beck was in the hospital with tonsillitis. I can't imagine bringing home a new baby just to have my one year old sick in the hospital. Hopefully they both get a lot more sleep this week.

David's neice from St. George wanted me to take some profile pictures for her. While we were at it we ended up getting their entire family. Including their dog Diesel. Diesel is like their baby. He definately needed to be front and center. I have tons more from where these came from. . . . Oh and by the way I'm going to pretend that they specifically came all the way up here to have their pictures taken by yours truly. They may say that they came up for business but I'm going to claim that I was it. I Hope it was worth the trip for them.

Also, this shoot just verifies that taking pictures of men can be harder than taking pictures of a three year old. You have two or three shots at it and your done. This was the only family picture with Dad looking right at me. I need to give Scott a hard time about that one. No really, we enjoyed visiting with the Holts.

I was able to get David to spend fifteen minutes in the studio this morning. After a few minutes he was done. I think he likes getting his picture taken a little less than my kids do. Anyway, I think I got a couple of him but I sure would have liked more. I think I need to invest in a tripod so that we can get a family picture. And thank you Camille (my sister) for taking the top picture of me and my kids. And no David could not come with me to her house to get the family pictures done. Like I said before he is worse than the kids with getting his picture taken.

A few of the cousins that played at our house yesterday. They had a fashion show and did each others hair. They weren't happy that Jennica insisted to be in the photo with them. Jennica also insisted on wearing the bright red hat and she had to hold her furry blue hippo. That girl just cracks me up.

I just love Todd and Marnae Ballantyn from Affilated First Title in American Fork. I just can't believe that they are old enough to be grandparents. Their daughter and her husband were gorgeous as well. It was fun to photograph them. I think we kinda broke these first time parents in when little Jersey decided to take a potty break when we didn't have her diaper on. Both Mom and Dad got a turn at getting wet and well. . . .covered in poo.

Megan Grover called me yesterday about a little play group thing we've had all year. She just happened to mention that she was tending her sister's two week old baby. She also mentioned she slept a lot. To make a long story short we got to take this sweet babies pictures the next day. Isn't she lovely. She was so amiable and sweet. True to her reputation she let us get the most gorgeous pictures of her. Thanks so much for letting us photograph her.

Cori and I shot pictures of this cute little guy in Cori's studio at her house. This is like the only picture we got of him asleep. He was awake and alert the entire time. He was soooo strong too. He kept lifting his head up. He was only three weeks old - but, he might have been a little too old for the typical newborn shoots. Such a cute little guy though.
